Terms of Service

The rules for playing CSBrowser, an unofficial fan-made browser shooter: acceptable use, nicknames, trademarks and game content, disclaimers and contact.

Last updated: 2026-10-23

Acceptance

By using CSBrowser at playcsbrowser.com, including the game, the lobby, multiplayer rooms, replays and the embeddable player, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

CSBrowser is a free, team-based tactical shooter that runs in your browser. Playing needs no account and there is nothing to buy; signing in with Google is optional. To close your account, email support@playcsbrowser.com. We provide it as a hobby project: features, maps and rules may change, rooms may be full or unavailable, and we may pause or shut down all or part of the service at any time without notice.

Acceptable use

Play fair and treat other players with respect. In particular, do not:

  • use cheats, aimbots, wallhacks, bots you control, modified clients, or exploit bugs to gain an advantage;
  • pick a nickname that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, impersonates someone, or is otherwise offensive, or harass, threaten or grief other players;
  • flood, scrape, load-test or attack the site or room server, or try to get around rate limits, room passwords or other protections;
  • abuse the contact form, for example with spam, automated messages or false reports;
  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the service.

Embedding. You may put the embeddable player (/embed) on your own site, unmodified and free of charge to your visitors. Do not hide, cover or change our branding or controls, do not suggest that we endorse your site, and do not embed it on pages that are illegal or that break these terms. We may stop any embed at any time.

Your nickname

Your nickname is shown to other players in your room. You are responsible for it. We may hide, change or remove nicknames, and remove players from rooms, if they break these terms. There is no text or voice chat.

Trademarks and game content

CSBrowser is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game publisher or developer, and all third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Some maps, textures and character models in the game recreate or are based on classic game and community content, such as the Dust II map created by David Johnston. That content belongs to its respective owners, and we do not claim ownership of it.

If you hold rights in content used in CSBrowser and want it credited, changed or removed, email support@playcsbrowser.com with the content concerned and your contact details. We will review every request and remove content where appropriate.

You may not copy, resell or redistribute the CSBrowser site, game code or packaged game files except where these terms allow it.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or freedom from bugs. We do not guarantee that your settings or replays, which live in your browser, will be kept or will work with future versions.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Since the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to zero, or the lowest amount the law permits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

We may block access to the service, or to rooms, for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or other players at risk. You may stop using the service at any time and clear its data from your browser.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
